Diagnostic X-Ray

We utilize state-of-the-art digital diagnostic x-ray to rule out any serious underlying condition that may be present at the time of examination. This technology also allows us to determine the exact position and alignment of the skeletal system. With this information we are able to design the most effective plan of treatment for each individual patient.

CRYOTHERAPY

Cryotherapy, also referred to as ‘ice therapy’, is applied to areas of soft tissue with the intent of reducing temperatures directly on or below the skin’s surface. This cooling helps to reduce swelling, inflammation and muscle spasms as well as numbing the affected area. Cryotherapy is most often used to treat acute injuries, or recent eruptions of chronic injuries.

MOIST HEAT THERAPY

Superficial moist heat is used to raise the temperature of soft tissues directly below the skin. This temporarily relieves painful symptoms, increases circulation and relaxes muscles that are in spasm. When these muscles are relaxed, there is an increase in flexibility and improved range of motion. Moist heat therapy is used in the treatment of chronic injuries.

ELECTRICAL MUSCLE STIMULATION

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is a unique form of electrical current administered at the site of soft tissue injury. This low level electrical current is used to reduce the sensation of pain, decrease swelling, promote muscle tone and helps to speed the healing process.

INTERSEGMENTAL TRACTION

Intersegmental traction is a way of inducing passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints and increasing mobility. This is accomplished with the patient lying face up on a special bench which has rollers beneath its surface. These rollers slowly travel the length of the spine, stretching spinal joints. The gentle rolling action exercises the spine without effort. Intersegmental traction improves circulation of spinal fluids which provides nutrients to the spinal discs.

THERAPEUTIC ULTRASOUND

Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves administered to the region of soft tissue injury. These sound waves penetrate deep into the tissues creating vibrations and heat that break down and disperse unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations. The rise in temperature causes an increase in blood flow and relaxes muscle spasms thus speeding up the healing process.

CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT

A chiropractic adjustment is used to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted in their movement as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event or through repetitive stresses. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function. Adjustment of the affected joint and tissues restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, allowing the tissues to heal.

CHIROPRACTIC REHABILITATION

Chiropractic Rehabilitation is used to restore proper joint function of the spine or extremities, and to strengthen supporting muscles and soft tissue. This will involve a program of specific stretches and exercises to improve muscle tone. Patients will receive a set of stretches and exercises designed specifically for their individual needs that can easily be performed at home.

MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. The therapist will massage specific areas of the body often varying pressure and movement using their hands and fingers. This massage is intended to relax the soft tissue, decrease muscle spasms, increase delivery of blood and oxygen to the massaged areas and decrease pain.
